Typewriter Museum

The typewriter was invented in Parcines.

One of the greatest achievements for the world of IT and the computer was undoubtedly the invention of the typewriter. The prototype was developed here in Parcines by Peter Mitterhofer.

The museum shows the culture of writing in general, as well as the various kinds of typewriters. Starting from the first examples from year 1874, a huge range of models including the mysterious cipher machines from the World Wars, foreign-language typographs, rarities like the world-famous "Malling Hansen", the most expensive typewriter in the world, standing next to many other unusual models, are shown.
The latest exhibit is the smallest typewriter in the world, from China, which has about the size of a pocket watch.
