With its thermal baths, the spa town of Merano not only has one more wellness attraction, but also another architectural jewel. ‘Nowhere else is there such an oasis of nature in the centre of the city,’ says Matteo Thun, describing the uniqueness of the newly renovated Therme Merano area. The impressive cube made of steel and glass, in which wooden elements create warm accents, is the centrepiece of the new thermal baths. The huge park of over 50,000 square metres on the south side of the River Passer offers a wonderful sunbathing lawn in summer, while large window fronts offer a spectacular panorama of the Ifinger, Texel Group and Vigiljoch.
