It takes just eight minutes from the station in Parcines for the Aschbach/Rio Lagundo cable car to reach its destination...The top of the cable car, at 1,486 metres above sea level. There is none of the daily stress that we are used to down in the valley. As you step out of the cable car you are facing silence. The stunning panorama of the Dolomites is for sure one of the highlights up there. Undoubtedly, Monte San Vigilio, situated directly above Lana, is one of the most idyllic destinations around Merano and the fact that its pure natural environment is off limits for all vehicles makes it an even bigger draw.
