What's new from March 2026
or what we're doing right now
The Olympics are currently taking place all around us. So while the whole world is looking towards Cortina, Antholz, Livigno and Bormio, everything in Merano is continuing as usual and calmly at this time of year. If you would like to know what we are currently doing, we will try to give you a little update here.
The days are getting longer again and the sun is already strong enough to push the thermometer above 15 degrees. So we are using this quieter time with our family to get our house ready for the new season.
What we are currently working on:
Most of our time over the last few weeks has been spent opening up walls and laying new pipes – in short, preparing everything for the installation of air conditioning. This work has now been completed and all the equipment and pipes have been connected. The drywallers are finishing the last ceilings and then it's time to bring in the painters. At the end of February, the electricians will install the new lamps and the carpenters will install new furniture in the guest rooms. That will be the bulk of the work done! Or will it?

At the end of February, the electricians will install the new lamps and the carpenters will install new furniture in the guest rooms. That will be the bulk of the work done! Or will it?
Well, two more heat pumps are already in the courtyard and still need to be hoisted onto the roof. Together with the new photovoltaic system, they will supply all the air conditioning units in the rooms with sufficient, emission-free energy.
Then we completely renovated our hot water system throughout the hotel. The new, more efficient technology closes the last gap in our otherwise state-of-the-art heating system. The adjustments, together with the new large heat buffers, were necessary so that the heat pumps can now feed energy into our system efficiently.
After 10 years, the floors in the restaurant have also been given a new surface and now shine like new with a matt finish.
At the end of February, when it finally gets warmer again and the snow is gone, the wooden slatted frames will be installed on the breakfast terrace and at the pool bar. Boris will lay these again together with Mahboob.
Chef Lukas's crew is also looking forward to their new kitchen appliances, which will be installed at the beginning of March. This will enable them to conjure up even more sophisticated dishes :)
New wall boxes enable autonomous activation directly via our ‘Guestnet’. So you can simply park your car in front of a charging station and use our web app (some of you are probably already familiar with it, otherwise you will receive access directly at check-in) to activate it yourself and track the charging process.
We have also thought of our dear employees and completely renovated another floor in the team house. All that's missing now is the furniture. Following our purchase two years ago and the initial work on the communal kitchen, garden, heating system and one floor, our team now also has a nicer home with us.
As you can see, things are anything but quiet outside of opening hours. Our trusted craftsmen from the surrounding villages are once again working hard in every corner to ensure that everything is ready in time and that you can feel even more at home with our team.
There are a few more surprises in store, but I'll tell you about those another time. Or you can simply drop by from 26 March onwards, when everything will be ready and we'll be back in business!
