Stefan's Birchermüsli

(a porridge-style muesli with condensed milk and grated apple)

Breakfast-cook Stefan doesn’t only prepare fried, scrambled eggs and omelets every day, but also his really tasty Birchermuesli (a porridge-style muesli with condensed milk and grated apple).
Now he told us his recipe (for 4 to 6 portions):

  • 150 g oats
  • 375 ml milk
  • 60 ml apple juice (unfiltered is the best)
  • 3 spoons of lemon juice
  • 1 dessert apple, coarsely grated
  • 1 to 2 spoons of honey
  • 375 g of yoghurt
  • your favorite fresh and/or dried fruit, nuts, toasted coconut, etc.: Stefan only uses raisins.

Combine oats, milk, apple juice and lemon juice and let sit overnight in the refrigerator.
In the morning add the grated apple, honey (, the raisins) and the yogurt and mix well.
If you are short on time in the mornings, you can add the grated apple the night before to save a few minutes.
