The Val Senales/Schnalstal glacier allows you to enjoy great skiiing almost the entire year. The cable car climbs to a dizzying 3,200 metres, and once you are there, the magnificent panorama dominated by majestic mountain peaks is breathtaking. Merano/Meran 2000 is the number one family skiing area; for many from Merano, it is the mountain where they put their ski boots on for the first time. Just a few kilometres from the spa town, Merano 2000 has eight ski lifts and 40 km of ski pistes. The Val d‘Ultimo/Ultental is one of the most natural, least polluted valleys in South Tyrol and for this reason, skiing here, surrounded by towering peaks of more than 3,000 metres, is an unforgettable experience. Cross- country skiers have a track that stretches for the entire length of the valley, while the ski tourers can make the most of this snow-covered, pristine environment. If you don’t like long treks to get to the nearest skilift, we might have found just the place for you. The small village of Plan/ Pfelders, located in the Tessa natural park is completely closed to traffic. Monte San Vigilio/Vigiljoch above Lana is a place for the romantics amongst you because you can only get there by cable car; cars aren’t allowed.
